WHAT'S NEW WITH THE OUTREACH PROJECT
12/01/2005
Outreach Project Update
Drop-ins
The Outreach Project will be running monthly drop-ins at local supermarkets
and post offices in your area, watch this space for more details.
Quarterly Socials
The Project will be hosting quarterly socials for volunteers registered
with the project, to come along and share their volunteering experiences
and find out about other volunteering opportunities. Refreshments will
be available, so you will need to book. Further details of dates etc will
be on the website in the near future.
Coming Out to You, the Volunteer
The project is still going out into areas of Brighton to meet one to one
or with small groups of people interested in volunteering and who find
it difficult to get to the bureau in Hove. They will arrange a time and
place to meet with you. On-going support is available e.g. you may need
an interpreter to go with you to the first interview, or you may want
to speak to someone about something you're not sure about to do with your
voluntary job.
The areas where this service is offered are: Portslade, Hangleton &
Knoll, Queen's Park & Craven Vale, Laburnum & Moyne, the Bristol
Estate and Hollingdean.
Are you an Organisation or Group that works with Volunteers? Then you
need to know that the project can support you in recruiting and sustaining
volunteers through good practice. If you would like to know more about
any of the above then call the Outreach Project on 07974 932743 or 01273
